Before us, the vineyard
The Rossetti family story begins in Bonito, in the province of Avellino. Here, Vincenzo Rossetti’s family worked the land and made wine. Donna Irma’s oldest memory grows from this bond.

The Rossetti family story begins in Bonito, in the province of Avellino. Here, Vincenzo Rossetti’s family worked the land and made wine. Donna Irma’s oldest memory grows from this bond.
02 · 1950 · THE DEPARTURE
In 1950 Vincenzo Rossetti left Bonito, in the province of Avellino, and set out for Argentina. Post-war Italy offered few opportunities, and leaving meant seeking a future for himself and practical help for the family who had remained at home.
Alone in a distant country, he began to build a new life. The early years were hard, marked by work in construction and on building sites, with shovel and pickaxe. In his stories he also recalled nights spent sleeping beneath a tree: a memory of the difficulties he faced before finding stability.
Despite these hardships, he continued to send part of his earnings to his family in Italy. That work would help create a place to turn to for the generations that followed.
03 · PALAZZOTTO
While Vincenzo was trying to build a life in Argentina, the family who had remained in the Avellino area were living through difficult years. Thanks to the money he sent, his relatives were able to buy a farm in San Lorenzo, in the Suvereto area, and move to Tuscany.
That farm was called Palazzotto and still bears the same name today. Here the family returned to cultivating the land and making wine, beginning a new chapter made possible in part by Vincenzo’s work and sacrifices on the other side of the ocean.
Palazzotto would become a meeting place for the generations and a tangible bond between Italy and Argentina. Today it remains part of the family story and is the registered office of Tenuta Donna Irma.
04 · IRMA MARGARITA
In Argentina, Vincenzo met and married Irma Margarita Giménez. Their sons were Vicente Daniel Rossetti and Mario Luis Rossetti. Irma was our grandmother, and the name Donna Irma is a tribute to her and to a family story between Italy and Argentina.
05 · THE FAMILY
Vicente Daniel became the father of Daniel, Ariel, Fernando, Carlos and Nicolas. Five brothers raised in Argentina, within a family that continued to preserve a strong bond with its Italian origins, the land and wine.
06 · 2001 · THE RETURN TO ITALY
In 2001, during Argentina’s severe economic crisis, Vicente Daniel Rossetti returned to Italy at the age of forty, together with his family and his five sons.
Their destination was Palazzotto: the farm that his father Vincenzo, through his work and sacrifices in Argentina, had helped his relatives in Italy to buy. A generation later, that land became a place from which his son and his five grandsons could begin again.
The return was not easy. Arriving in a new country without knowing the language or having any points of reference meant rebuilding a life almost from nothing. Yet waiting to welcome them was a place that already belonged to their story, made possible by the commitment of our grandfather Vincenzo.
The family lived at Palazzotto for about two years before continuing their journey in the Val di Cornia.
07 · VAL DI CORNIA
After their first years at Palazzotto, the family gradually built its life in the Val di Cornia. Here the five brothers grew up, worked and developed their own paths, keeping alive their bond with the territory, agriculture and wine.
08 · 2026 · THE RETURN TO WINE
The five brothers, sommeliers and wine lovers, explored this world over the years through study, tastings, experience and exchange. In 2026, this passion became a concrete decision: to build a shared project. The acquisition of Cantina Incontri marked the beginning of this new chapter.
09 · TENUTA DONNA IRMA
Tenuta Donna Irma takes its name from our grandmother, Irma Margarita Giménez, wife of Vincenzo Rossetti and part of the story that connects our family across Italy and Argentina.
Irma visited Italy often, and Tuscany was a recurring destination on her travels. In the 1980s she came to Palazzotto with Vincenzo to meet his parents and siblings and discover the places to which he had remained attached.
In 2002 she lived at Palazzotto for a year, sharing part of the new Italian chapter in the lives of her son Vicente Daniel and her five grandsons. She later returned to Argentina, her beloved homeland.
Today, through this project, we wish to honour our grandmother Irma and preserve the memory of our grandfather Vincenzo’s work and sacrifices. The name Donna Irma holds them both: family, distance, returns and the land that continues to bring us together.

SUVERETO · TUSCANY
Suvereto welcomed us with an immediate presence: countryside, woods, light and the nearness of the sea. Here we recognised the place where our story could begin again without losing what came before.

THE CELLAR
The cellar is where every decision must remain faithful to the raw material. Its spaces and equipment are part of a continuing evolution: refining our work, preserving the Estate’s identity and building quality through exact gestures.

THE BARREL CELLAR
In the barrel cellar, the rhythm changes. Silence, wood and waiting slowly accompany the evolution of the wines. Every stage is followed with restraint, so that ageing adds depth without obscuring the identity of the grapes and vintage.
13 · THE PROJECT CONTINUES
Donna Irma is a young project with an older story behind it. Work continues in the cellar and throughout the Estate, with changes designed to improve what we found and prepare what is yet to come.
The first labels open this journey. The Superior wines, expected in 2028, will be a further expression of it. Hospitality will grow with the Estate, until we can share these places with the same care with which we are building them today.
For us, evolving means remaining faithful to our origins without becoming captive to them: learning from the place every day, working with precision and leaving future generations a story capable of continuing.
